How To Store Pipe Tobacco For Long Term

One of the worst crimes a smoker can commit is the long-term storage of tobacco in plastic. Many pipe drinkers may be hesitant to use plastic to store pipe tobacco, especially for long periods of time. If you plan on storing tobacco in cans or their tins,

Therefore, it must be airtight, otherwise, the carefully tuned moisture will simply evaporate, leaving the tobacco vulnerable to the elements. 

Factory sealed jars should only be stored in a cool, dry place and away from direct light. I store rectangular jars in zip-top freezer bags, even for very short-term storage. For long-term storage, unopened metal cans or resealable plastic cans are used. 

Otherwise, given the size of these containers, tobacco can be stored in smaller glass jars, or even your own. Airtight glass jars are the first choice for long-term storage (more than 2 months in any case) of loose, loose, and opened cigarette packs. Glass jars are the preferred storage method for loose tobacco or tobacco not packaged in airtight boxes. However, if you stock loose tobacco or don't have a spare can, I recommend using a canning jar, such as a glass jar.
